The Role
As an IT Support Engineer, you will play a key role in providing high-quality 1st & 2nd line support to both internal teams and external customers. Working closely with the Technical Services team, you’ll investigate and resolve support requests, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure smooth running of client systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1st & 2nd line support across Windows desktop, Windows Server, and Mac OS X.
Support Microsoft Hyper-V & VMware vSphere infrastructures.
Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Azure, SharePoint) and Microsoft Office products.
Support anti-spam/email security solutions, antivirus, and malware protection.
Configure and maintain networking equipment (firewalls, Wi-Fi, DNS, broadband).
Monitor backups and RMM platforms, resolving any issues.
Liaise with 3rd-party vendors and escalate complex issues to 3rd line support.
Produce accurate documentation, procedural guides, and reports.
Deliver hands-on support for laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals.
Ensure client confidentiality and compliance with security processes.
About You
You will have:
2+ years’ experience in a similar IT role (MSP background preferred).
Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networks.
Knowledge of Windows OS, Windows Server, Mac OS X, networking fundamentals, and infrastructure.
Experience with Microsoft 365 (Office, Exchange, Azure, SharePoint).
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
Desirable Skills
Cyber Security knowledge (e.g. Cyber Essentials scheme).
Vendor certifications such as MTA, CompTIA (ITF+, A+, Server+), MCSA.
Experience within a cyber security function.
Full UK driving licence.
