Medical Technician IT

We are seeking a skilled Medical Equipment IT Engineer to support the secure management, maintenance, and repair of computer-controlled medical devices. This role involves handling sensitive Patient Identifiable Data (PID) in line with industry standards, performing hardware/software upgrades, and ensuring equipment operates to the highest safety and performance levels.
Key Responsibilities
Work with computer-controlled medical equipment to identify and securely erase PID to ISO 15408 and Infosec Standard 5.
Fit replacement storage devices in medical equipment and (re)install associated software.
Perform backup, recovery, and database rebuilds for specialised medical software applications.
Diagnose and resolve device faults, system/network issues, and hardware/software problems.
Maintain accurate records of defects, repairs, parts used, and test results.
Engage with third parties to source parts and liaise with manufacturers regarding PID removal.
Contribute to departmental process documentation and continuous improvement.
Meet departmental targets to ensure maximum service performance.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
ONC / HNC level education.
Experience maintaining and repairing microprocessor-based electronic medical equipment.
Understanding of operating systems, embedded storage media, and medical equipment connectivity.
Knowledge of maintenance protocols, manufacturer specifications, and implementing hardware/software upgrades.
Desirable Skills
Experience managing PID removal in line with ISO 15408 and Infosec Standard 5 using licensed overwrite software.
Familiarity with working within a Quality Management System environment.
