Our client, a well-established professional services firm based in central London, is looking to appoint an experienced and proactive HR Manager to take full ownership of their HR function. This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic and hands-on role within a growing and collaborative business.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations—from recruitment and onboarding to policy development, performance management, and employee engagement. This role offers flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact within a supportive environment.
Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and exit processes.
Lead and administer the probation review and annual appraisal cycles.
Oversee and regularly update HR policies and the staff handbook to ensure compliance and best practice.
Provide expert HR advice to managers and staff on performance, absence, and employee relations matters.
Maintain and monitor employee records, tracking attendance, holiday, parental leave, and sickness.
Collaborate with senior management to shape and implement HR strategies.
Support the development of a positive company culture, focusing on employee engagement and well-being.
Supervise front office and support staff to ensure efficient operations.
Proven experience in an HR Manager or similar role, ideally within legal, financial, or other professional services.
Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a confident, diplomatic approach.
Highly organised with a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with HRIS or document management systems is an advantage.
A collaborative team player who can work independently when required.
CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) is desirable but not essential.
Salary: 40,000 – 50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
